Some good news first: I made my goal for NaNoWriMo/[community profile] getyourwordsout! I set a goal of 17k for NaNo so I could meet my pledge for GYWO of 75k, and I can happily report that I made it! Not sure anything I’ve written—either this month or this year—is really any good, but... hey, I wrote something. And I made a goal and reached it, so that’s also nice.

So I’m feeling wiped from writing so much and so often this month, which... okay. That’s fine. But at the same time, I am so stressed out still by everything left to do this month/year. I’ve got one cross-stitch project I’d like to try and finish, but I just don’t know that that’s going to happen, even with like 1/4 left on it. I don’t feel like I’m doing enough, and my cross-stitch hyperfocus is just gone and ARGH. Also I still have to do Christmas shopping. And figure out what I’m getting everyone in the first place.

And all I really want to do is... nothing? Stardew Valley just updated for PC with a ton of new content, so I’d love to play that endlessly. And just hang out watching movies or whatever all day. I don’t want to have to do anything, but there’s so many things I have to do and it’s just............. argh. I hate everything.

I don’t know. I don’t really have a lot to share, just that I’m tired of.... everything. Hope you all are doing well.

Well, I’m not near as cranky as I was last week, which I can only take a sign of improvement, however slight. That said, I still feel like I’m slowly sliding back into Depressionville, which... ugh. Not a fan, but brainweasels gonna brainweasel, I guess. :-\

I’m still writing for my tiny NaNoWriMo goal. I’m about 2200 words shy of 17k for the month, and 75k (my [community profile] getyourwordsout pledge) for the year. So I really push at it, I should be done by the weekend. Who knows if I’m going to continue this draft of this story or not; I’m leaning towards rather not, but you never know, I guess.

Still playing Stardew Valley on my Switch. I’ve made it to Fall Year 2, which means I’m very close to finishing up the “story”, such as it is. I really need to get on top of making friends with people so I can max my score for the evaluation, though I’m pretty sure I’ve got that in the bag as it stands right now. Also I guess I need to face my fears and venture into the Skull Cavern, much as I don’t want to. I’m not going to bother with the 100-floor challenge, which I’ve only ever managed on PC with cheat mods, but the 25-floor challenge should be doable if I’m well prepared.

Also got a Roku box for my TV so I can watch Disney Plus. My mom did the preorder special for D23 members, so we’re paid up for three years. I haven’t actually watched anything yet, but I plan on at least watching Gargoyles again because why not. Also Gravity Falls is on there, too, so. I might check out The Mandalorian if I’ve got time, but... who knows. I haven’t been big into TV lately, so I might just never use it. Though I am using the Roku to watch YouTube on my TV. I listen to game soundtrack videos and I’ve recently started rewatching a Breath of the Wild LP, so that’s nice.

Cross-stitch is... going, I guess? I am working just on the cat project for my SIL right now, because I think I might be able to finish it before Christmas. I might switch things up in December since I won’t have NaNo hanging over my head and try to devote time to both projects (cat and Rivendell) each day, but... we’ll see. I’m trying my best to reduce stress because I don’t want to slide into depression again, so I might just do what I can do and not worry about the rest of it.

Can’t say there’s much else going on. Hope you all are doing well, as ever. Best wishes all around.

Everything continues as it was, more or less. Still cross-stitching, still crocheting. Working on NaNoWriMo. I'm in a good mood more days than not. Or at least, I'm not in a bad mood, which is always a good thing.

I finished the first page/half of the cross-stitch cat for my SIL. (Here's what it looks like. [link]) I'm planning on taking a break on that one for the time being, and focusing more energy onto the Rivendell one, which is much more urgent considering how big it is. I might alternate weeks I work on each project, just so I don't get burned out on one or the other. Here's hoping, anyway. I think I'll probably get them done in time for Christmas, but not in time to get them framed. Oh well.

Still working on the crochet shawl. I've started the ending border now. I might have had enough to do a couple more repeats of the body, but I wasn't willing to engage in a game of yarn chicken. I've only got the two skeins of this color, so I might as well make sure they last. I'd rather have some left over than have an unfinished shawl.

NaNoWriMo has begun. I'm not aiming for 50k this year (haven't done that in several years now), but I'd like to write 17k and get over my goal for [community profile] getyourwordsout. I'm at 1400 words right now, and once everyone in the house is gone to church, I'll probably write something for today. I'd like to keep up a streak of writing every day if nothing else, so... yeah. Here's hoping it all goes all right.

I didn't manage to finish reading The Feather Thief in time, so I've requested that again from the library's ebook collection. I checked out another couple ebooks, and I guess I should probably get started trying to read those.

I downloaded a Picross game for my Switch. Been having fun doing puzzles, though as I've gotten to the harder 15x15 puzzles, I've had to take breaks more frequently. It usually helps get my brain in the right space for solving them, though, so that's not a bad thing. I haven't been playing Ori as much; I am stuck and I can't figure out what to do next. I may have to watch a walkthrough for that one. Also debating using the last of my eShop money (and a little of my actual money) to get Stardew Valley. I do love me some Stardew. Though playing mod-free is going to be tough. (I mean, I've done it before, but life is so much easier when you don't have to worry about dying in the mines because you can one-hit-kill everything.) Also also I need to get a microSD card for my Switch because the basic storage is... 32GB and not great. So I'll have to budget for that as well. Also also ALSO debating saving my money up to get Pokemon Sword eventually. Though I may just put that on my Christmas list and be done with it.

Outside of all that... not a whole lot going on? I can't believe the end of the year is so close now. Just a couple months away. I'm not ready for this year to be over; it feels like it's just begun.

Hope you all are doing well, as ever. Best wishes and hugs if you aren't. :)

So, as I said in my last entry, I thought I'd share a little bit of what I've been working on this week. Without further ado:

Here's my draft for Day One of [community profile] getyourwordsout 's 7 Days, 7 Stories challenge. It's a prompt fill for [community profile] genprompt_bingo, prompt (chosen for my Wild Card slot) "kishotenketsu", which is a Japanese storytelling concept known as "plot without conflict."

The story is an MCU fanfic, featuring Vision being taken clothes shopping (so between Age of Ultron and Civil War).

So I'm planning to participate in [community profile] getyourwordsout 's 7 Days 7 Stories challenge next week, as I mentioned before. I'm trying to prepare myself as much as possible, and that means plotting and planning and hoping. A lot.

Here are the ideas I've got laid out for myself:

I've still got work to do, obviously, but this is where I'm at right now. Sunday is just a couple days away, so I suppose I ought to get back at it!
