So I'm planning to participate in [community profile] getyourwordsout 's 7 Days 7 Stories challenge next week, as I mentioned before. I'm trying to prepare myself as much as possible, and that means plotting and planning and hoping. A lot.

Here are the ideas I've got laid out for myself:

1. The Outpost Chapter 12 rewrite/redraft

I want to make it clear that the Nameless picks Bode and Vidmar out of desperation rather than thoughtfulness and care. That they're obviously bad news in some way, just not a specified or obvious one. I think the scene of the attack is fine the way it is, but some of it may need adjusting. This should all in all be an easy day's project. So maybe either start with it or save it for later in the week.

2. [community profile] genprompt_bingo fill: kishotenketsu: Vision goes clothes shopping

I have this one planned out. I just need to write it. I should stick to the plan, I suppose. I want to have funw ith this. So make it light and fluffy, have fun with clever lines, stuff like that. Enjoy yourself, relax with this story. It doesn't need to be perfect. I might try this one on Sunday.

3. Gods and Politicians synopsis/outline

This is going to be a toughie. There's obviously still worldbuilding that needs to be done, but having a summary will help matters. At least I'll know what I want to happen in the story. Though that means making some big decisions regarding the overarching plot (re: the seventh god in particular) and whether I want to make it two books and maybe this is a bad idea? Or I just need to take a whole day to bang away at it. Monday or Tuesday for this, then.

4. DW Review: Day of the Moon

Two prongs to this one: I've got to watch the episode first. I can do that. And writing the review will be easy as well, though I might essay a bit on the nature of the climax and how it functions in the whole of Series 6. So maybe save this for later in the week, in case of discouragement.

5. Essay for RTD ebook

My options here are "The End of Time is Bad and It Should Feel Bad" or "The Master is Evil Because He's Crazy: That's Hella Problematic." Either way, I'm going to be reading transcripts for choice quotes. I probably need to thesis-ize or outline both of these ideas. ((Which I have since done.))

"The End of Time is Bad": What sticks out most in my mind about EoT is the embarrassing plot developments, the pointless callbacks, and most of all the Doctor's selfish vanity. What should have been Ten's great moment is instead a limping finale, an embarrassment to be endured rather than a celebration to be cherished.

"The Master is Evil Because He's Crazy": Davies' portrayal of the Master robs the character of nuance, and furthermore plays into dangerous stereotypes about the mentally ill. By attempting to "explain" the Master's actions, Davies clings to a lazy cliche and ultimately does the character more harm than good.

6. [community profile] 15kisses fic

I can either finish the only one I've started, or else take a look at the prompts and come up with a new idea. So I'm gonna have to do some planning for this as well.

7. Fic summaries/outlines

So what have we got here?

- "Safer" (TRON AU) as a full fic summary: I've started writing dribs and drabs of later parts of this story, but if there are later parts then we need to connect those up and also (horrors) come up with an ending.
- The Little Mermaid Retelling: I've already got something of an outline for this one. So we'd be more doing a snyopsis. I should figure out whether or not I can actually make this work. Among other things. At any rate, this would be the easiest one to do.
- TRON/Pacific Rim crossover: now this is an epic for the ages. I need ot figure out where to start it. How to structure it. Where to end it. (Ideally I'd AU the whole movie, but there isn't much that would actually change. Unless I made some... big changes.) Now with that thought I am really itching to plan this one. Oh damn.

I've still got work to do, obviously, but this is where I'm at right now. Sunday is just a couple days away, so I suppose I ought to get back at it!
