plots and plans

Things that have been going on:
- Well, not long after I talked about getting a sunlamp on here, my mom got me a sunlamp! So I've had that for a week and a half now, and it seems to be helping a little. I'm not better by leaps and bounds or anything, but I'm having fewer crappy days, so that's probably a good thing. I still can't wait for spring to get here, though; it's been dreary the last few days and I want sunlight, dammit!
- I played about 5 hours of Pokemon Sword before I took it back to the rental place. It honestly just struck me as very aggressively okay. I wish they had explained the whole Dynamaxing thing with more than just a couple of cards over the first Gym Leader battle. I kind of want to play more, but I'd rather just get the game itself than shell out $9 for another 5-day rental.
- I spent Sunday afternoon finishing up a couple old cross-stitch projects. I was planning on displaying them in hoops, so after a wash and an ironing, I trimmed the fabric around them, sewed it back behind the hoop, and then put a circle of felt over it with a blanket stitch. They look very nice; I'll have to post a pic on my Instagram so y'all can see them. :)
- I wrote 700-odd words yesterday, and 200-odd today. I'm going to try to write a little something every day for the rest of the month, just to see how many words I can get. Even if it's just a sentence, it'll be nice to get a little streak going. Also I seriously need to play catch-up on my
getyourwordsout pledge. I'm supposed to average about 6k a month, and currently I'm just at 6k for the year. I'm not planning on writing another 6k in three days, though, don't worry. It has been nice to just sit down and write. I've been using Written? Kitten! to do my drafting, mostly because it has a nice incentive for writing words: cat pictures.
- I am plotting to make a blanket for my Older Niece. (And Younger Niece, too, but one thing at a time.) I found this pattern [link] on Ravelry last year, and I have been thinking about making it for a while. I mostly picked it because the pattern name is Older Niece's full name, which is really neat in my opinion. I got some extra money yesterday from my dad, so I bought what I hope is enough yarn to do the first two parts of the pattern. It's probably going to be here at the end of next week or the beginning of the week after. I can't wait to get started, and hopefully after a while, I'll have something lovely to give my niece. (And then I'll do it all over again for Younger Niece.)
I think that's about it for the last week? I hope you're all doing well, as ever, and best wishes for the rest of your week.

Date: 2020-02-26 10:52 pm (UTC)I'm glad to hear about your writing! I've been so busy packing and moving that I've barely written a word, apart from email and social media, in a long time. Now that we're moved I can take a deep breath and get back to it.

Date: 2020-02-26 11:41 pm (UTC)I hope you're able to get back to writing soon! Moving can be very hectic; it's hard to get anything done when you've got a moving to-do list that's a mile long.

Date: 2020-02-28 01:51 pm (UTC)And Written Kitten is amazing. I wrote most of a NaNoWriMo novel with it several years ago. :D
