(pretend I am clever enough for titles)

The weather is still gorgeous. It also actually rained on Sunday, so that’s another magnificent plus. It’s going to be a little warmer over the next couple of days, but some more rain over the weekend and I think we’ll be fully into autumn. Thank goodness. I was getting a little tired of summer.
I’ve been reading a book, so that’s nice. It’s a YA sci-fi book called Aurora Rising, by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Follows a ragtag squad of a peacekeeping space force and the mysterious girl their leader found cryogenically frozen in wrecked spaceship. It’s really interesting so far, and I might actually finally break my streak of not being able to finish physical books I haven’t read before. Who knows! I am thoroughly enjoying it, though, so that’s good.
I don’t have supplies for my next cross-stitch project yet, so I decided to help my mom out with one of hers? She’s had a birth announcement for my older niece in progress for the last five or six years now, which is... not so great considering my niece turns 5 in a couple of weeks. All she really had left on the thing was the backstitching and the personalization, so I offered to do the rest of that. (Except the French knots, because French knots are the devil.) I just finished it today, and once my mom gets all the knots in, it’ll be done and ready to frame! Although now I’m sad because I don’t have a cross-stitch project to work on anymore, though we are supposed to go to the craft store this weekend for stuff, so I just have to hold out until then.
I also started replaying one of my old Pokemon games last week. My first Pokemon game, actually, Pokemon Platinum. It’s my third attempt at trying to beat the game all the way through (I made it to the Elite Four the first time, and not very far the second time). It’s been a lot of fun so far, though I do not miss level grinding in the slightest. Especially when you’re trying to avoid a certain Pokemon (looking at you, Budew) and it becomes the only thing that spawns. I want experience, dammit, not status effects!! But so far it’s going pretty well. I need to work on leveling my team before I do the next story fight with Team Galactic, but other than that... I’m enjoying myself.
Can’t say there’s much else going on with me? It’s mostly just been video games and reading and a little stitching on the side. Hope you all are doing well.

Date: 2019-10-09 05:08 pm (UTC)The weather's finally cooled down here, too, and I'm living for the gray, rainy days. After all the heat they're a nice change.
