Or at least a little happiness.

I've given myself permission not to write for the next few days. I think I've been putting too much pressure on myself (esp. after the rather fantastic month I had in May, writing-wise), so a break should do me a little good. In the meantime, I'm brainstorming what to do for my TRONfest bingo card, since I feel like as admin I should at least post something.

I borrowed the second season of Community from the library the other day. It's due back tomorrow, so I sat down and watched the first two discs today. I forgot how much fun that show is. S2 also has the amazing "you CHLOROFORMED the JANITOR?!?!?!" scene and I was basically in stitches the whole time. What perfect comedy. XD

I knit a full pattern repeat on the baby blanket today. I measured it, too; I've reached 18 inches! Only six more to go, which seems pretty doable by the end of the month. :)

I also made some icons:


I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I found a tutorial for using feathering to blend the edges between two caps, and used that on the last two. I will probably be using that a bit more in the future.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of my evening. Maybe watch some Steven Universe or something. Or a movie. I'm feeling like popcorn right now, after all.

I've seen a few episodes of Community for the first time relatively recently, and wow, what a show! It really is hilarious - I'm glad you're getting to rewatch!

Community is such a great show. I haven't seen all of it, but the first three seasons, at least, are GOLD. I need to find the rest of it somewhere.

Knitting is something I would like to learn how to do. I have so many online friends who make these great things, but no friends in rl that can teach me how. :/
Your icons came out nice. It's been so long since I made them for LJ, that I seem to have forgotten how I used to get them sharp enough in this size. I keep meaning to post new ones, but haven't been happy with the end result of my recent attempts.

Knitting is a lot of fun, but it is kind of hard to pick up on your own. I learned from my grandmother, but I've had to reteach myself a couple times over the years. Videos help a lot, but there really is nothing like having someone show you irl. Maybe you could try finding a class in your area? *shrug* :)

Sometimes taking a break from writing is the best thing you can do for a project. I've had stories where I just wasn't feeling it and couldn't make progress for days or even weeks--usually once I stopped trying to force myself to write (and write well) the words started flowing again.

Yeah, I think it'll be good for me to take a break from this story. I've got some other ideas to work on, so hopefully that'll keep me busy. :)
